Description: Monteverdi was an Italian composer who marked the transition between Renaissance music and Baroque music. His great compositional technique and his ability to sing was a great change in the polyphonic tradition, being in charge of the birth of the lyric drama thanks to the theory of the affections. His work “L’orfeo” supposes the birth of the opera in the 17th century.
