Description: Andy Palacio was a Belizean composer and singer, known as the most famous musician in Belize. He was an important defender of Garífuna, the culture from Belize. His orchestra invented the punta rock, a fusion of traditional Garifuna dance with electric guitar and  influences of jazz and rock and roll. In addition, Palacio sang in four languages: Garífuna, Arawakano, Spanish and English. He published five studio albums. Palacio was appointed Belize’s cultural ambassador and deputy administrator of the National Institute of Culture and History.
