Description: Papa Wemba was a Congolese musician and singer. He is one of the most prominent musicians of the African continent and in World music style. He had a great impact on later African musicians and artists. He was the leader of the band “Viva la Vida”, with which he recorded more than 35 albums. His music was characterized by free rhythm and African ethnic influences. Papa composed the original soundtracks of three films: “Identity Pieces”, “Macadam tribe”, and “Life is Beautiful”.
