Introduction
“Chess, like love, like music, has the power to make men happy.”
(Siegbert Tarrasch. Chess master)
In a very distant galaxy, where reality and infinity are confused, immortality has been achieved.
There the souls of the great characters of the history of humanity meet and face each other for universal supremacy. Several ghettos have been created. It is a period of intellectual shock. But we only have to worry about our fateful and imminent duel between music composers and chess players.
Dr. Siegbert Tarrasch leads the neutral rebels´ faction, pacifists without borders who advocate a contractual union. Unfortunately, its current (pacifist) is a minority. The claims made by the two bellicose sides have been heard by their respective muses: Euterpe and Caissa.
Without further delay, the final battle must begin. Some emblematic places will witness this struggle of egos. Travel to London, Bayreuth, Leipzig, Berlin, New York, Washington DC, Reykjavik, Florence, Bologna, Milan, Vienna, Paris, Prague, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Havana, Buenos Aires, Manila, Beijing, Sydney, Cairo, Linares, Wijk aan Zee… or wherever dreams may take us.
Let the contest begin!
Yuliya Veysberg (Music) vs. Vera Menchik (Chess)
The ground on which the duel would take place was clearly divided into two parts: the eastern front, with capital in St. Petersburg, consisting of five tracks, like the five lines of the staff: three dirt roads and two rivers. The West Front, based in London, was...
The Jadin family (Music) vs. Napoleon Bonapart (Chess)
The troops of the Emperor Napoleon Bonapart[1] determinedly march towards Versailles while they listen to the Eroica Symphony nº 3[2] of Beethoven. There, in the palace, awaited two of the many Jadin musician brothers (Hyacinthe[3] and Louis-Emmanuel[4]). With the...
